Book Review: Come With Me

“Can we just be honest? It’s murky when you know you’ve heard Jesus whisper, “I’ve chosen you for this,” and then it doesn’t work out like you think it should, or the timing isn’t what you hoped it would be.  This is often where we take a detour while people quote something like, “Well, if it’s God’s will, then the doors would have opened.” Come With Me

Suzanne Eller, Proverbs 31 author and speaker, has written a new book which is described as “calling women to experience a revolutionary faith.”  As she navigates between her personal testimony and lessons from Scripture Eller invites the reader to stand alongside the disciples as they learn from Jesus.

This thirteen-week study includes a few pages of reading and discussion/reflections at the end of each chapter.  As the weeks go on the consistency remains. Eller shares examples of how Jesus called her into a deeper relationship with him, deeper faith and also how she responded.

I connected closely with this book. I’ve wrestled with doubt, fear and wounds. I’ve had people tell me their opinions of how God was working in my life, and I’ve wanted to understand things more clearly.  Eller reminds the reader that not only has she wrestled with her faith, but the disciples did as well. Jesus lived his life on earth in part as an example of how we should live ours.  Come With Me is a beautiful reminder of that!
