The third installment in the Ladies of the Manor series, A Lady Unrivaled follows Lady Ella who is on a mission to save her family from any additional heartache due to the fire eyes diamonds. In the journey to find out the truth Lady Ella falls in love, finds her life in danger, and discovers there is more than one secret her family has been keeping from her.

Roseanna M White, author of many historical fiction books has written a beautiful adventure of a woman who loves God, her family, and her friends. With only the best of intentions, Ella sets out to discover the origins of the fire eyes diamonds and to determine how to best keep her family safe from harm.

I loved how unpredictable this story was! With a formula that seems similar to many love stories, there are surprises in every chapter. Unpredictable choices, conversations, and people combine to create a satisfyingly suspenseful story.

Don’t be concerned if you haven’t read the other stories in this series, enough back details are offered throughout to help keep the reader engaged and up to speed on how people are connected to each other. This isn’t to say you shouldn’t read the other books in the series if written life A Lady Unrivaled they will be engaging and enjoyable.

On her blog, Roseanna M White posts the back story behind her inspirations including pictures. When the library picture post came up I immediately knew what part of the story was being presented. I love when the pictures in my head match the pictures the author is inspired by!

I was given a free e-copy of this book by Bethany House Publishers to read in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed are my own.
