Meet Susan Davidson

Susan Davidson Beachbody Coach

Susan and I connected through social media. She’s a fellow coach’s wife and I think our desire to encourage other wives drew us to each other. I noticed Susan was always willing to share an encouraging word and the more I spent time paying attention to her posts the more I realized that even when she was promoting her business she was spending time encouraging other women. Now that is a woman who is THRIVING!

Meet Susan Davidson one of Many Wives Who Thrive

Tell me about your career

I am a health and fitness life coach and motivational speaker for Jesus. My motto is to grow a team of women who create HOPE in other women to be healthy inside and out through Jesus. I want women to be able to have the freedom that comes with being the CEO of your own company. To feel confident, courageous, have strong purpose, and be passionate about life. I am with a company that provides online workouts, clean eating nutrition plans, accountability groups, and 1 on 1 coaching. The workouts are short and are scientifically based. The nutrition plans are simple and sustainable. Then, I take it a step further and encourage women to grow in their walk with the Lord.

What part of your career are you most passionate about and why?

I am passionate about helping women build a faith-fitness business of spreading the word of Jesus and encouraging women to serve their family better by taking care of themselves. We are a better mom, wife, SuSu, and friend when we take care of the temple God has given us. This career has filled me with a passion for life and love for helping others beyond what I have ever experienced. I believe so many women are stuck in doubt, self condemnation and fear. We teach our children to dream, but we are afraid to do it for ourself. We have a 1/2 empty, poverty mindset that we are blind to or at least I was. So, we stress routines of starting your day with quiet time with Jesus. Taking time for prayer, being thankful, creating a dream board, working out and eating healthy. I am passionate about impacting others by sharing what we do and cheering others in their own health and fitness. The women on my team create strong bonds and are amazing prayer warriors for each other. I am thrilled when I am asked to share my testimony on stage. I pray that my story will help encourage 1,000’s of women.

Why did you choose your niche?

I have been a teacher, junior high girls’ coach, and of course of football coach’s wife for years. My spiritual gift is Encouraging others, teaching, and prophesying (telling others about Jesus). I am a 3/2 which means I love motivating. I am driven, adaptable, and want to excel and help others to do the same. I have always loved sports and anything to do with health and fitness. I was a college athlete at Abilene Christian and my major was education and Physical Ed. Coaching junior high girls has helped me on the counseling side of what I do tremendously. I gave weekly motivation talks to the girls, FCA, and other organizations. My dad signed me up in a Dale Carnegie Course when I was 18. I fell in love with speaking and motivating others. ha! I never would have dreamed that course would stick with me and impact me in so many ways.

Is there a non-profit/ministry aspect of your business? If so please share those details as well as how people can get involved in supporting you.

When you dreamed of the ideal career where your strengths, passions, gifts, and talents would connect did you think you would be doing what you are doing? How are things the same/different?

My dream job has always had 6 components to it:

  1. Share Jesus, help and IMPACT others
  2. Freedom of working when and where I want.
  3. The opportunity to build a lasting business that blesses my family financially
  4. Travel
  5. Speaking engagements
  6. Something I love to do.

YES! My health and fitness coaching has all 5 components. I absolutely love what I get to do.

What is your best advice for someone wanting to pursue a career in your field?

I watched and admired my good friend build her business of health and fitness coaching for 3 years. Deep inside I truly wanted to join her but didn’t think I could do it. I let fear and worry about what others think about me hold me back for way too long. Stepping out in your fear and doing it afraid has been one of the best character building things I have ever done. It has given freedom and confidence. I didn’t even realize I was tied up in such a stronghold. Yes… it was scary and the enemy tried and will still try to fill me with all kinds of lies… but I keep doing my best to give it to the Lord and when I would fail, I would say, “I’ll figure it out.” and give myself grace. My advice is to do something that is so BIG that you can only accomplish it because of God… that is where the magic happens. One of my favorite verses is: “Where there is no VISION, the people perish.” Proverbs 29:18

Do you have any tips to share about balancing work and the rest of life?

oooh balancing work… YES! This is a struggle. I loooove what I get to do and I could do the work 24 /7 So, I have had to really work to set boundaries. We have what we call a Power Hour. They teach us how to get our work done is one hour or maybe 2. This has helped me the most. Work from a list, set my timer, and do the next thing on my list. Then… STOP!!!

Is there anything else you would like to share?

It is funny how life seems more clear when we can look back. ha! I see now had God placed this dream on my heart many years ago, but his timing is perfect and best. I am extremely thankful for the women he has placed on my team and in my care. I pray that he will use me and my team in mighty ways to glorify HIM. I pray that he will bring women into my path that are looking to help others, impact others with the love of Jesus, and grow a business of helping others to be healthy inside and out.
