Share Four Somethings February 2022

It’s a short month and it’s been packed! I’m so thrilled that here in Central IL we’re finally able to walk around most places without masks! It’s been such a long time and since our family has avoided the virus this entire time I’m celebrating every milestone that allows us to step toward our “new normal” in a world where Covid exists.

Something Loved

This month I LOVED the opportunity to attend and speak at the Cultivate Women’s retreat. I met some wonderful women and presented on the topic of burnout. While I’m still a newer speaker, I appreciate every chance to get out there and provide helpful information.

Something Gleaned

I’ve continued reading and listening to my backlog of kindle books this month. By far my favorite read this month was How (Not) to Read the Bible: Making Sense of the Anti-women, Anti-science, Pro-violence, Pro-slavery and Other Crazy-Sounding Parts of Scripture by Dan Kimball. This was followed closely by Ten Words to Live By: Delighting in and Doing What God Commands by Jen Wilken.

I also finished a few books I’d started a long time ago and just hadn’t had time to finish. Check out everything I’m reading as well as my highlights on my GoodReads page!

Something Braved

This year I’ve taken on a new role with our local Women’s Business Council. When you move frequently it can become exhausting to continue to put yourself in new situations. It’s taken me a few years to figure out exactly how to divide my time here, but I’m finding my footing and WBCCC is a great organization that allows me to fulfill my mission statement which is to “Inspire women to pursue their calling and thrive in their purpose.”

Something Achieved

I’ve more than met my reading challenge for 2022 and so far I’m pleased with my choices. After spending so much time writing it’s been really fun to dive back into reading some of my favorite authors.

2022 Good Reads Reading challenge

I’m linking up with Heather Gerwing for another month of Share Four Somethings! What are you sharing things month?

  1. I’ll never catch up to your reading Megan! But I’m pretty happy with my pace. 🙂 Our school just extended masks for another few weeks…sigh.

  2. You are so kind Linda! I’ve been praying my words are recalled over the next few weeks. Burnout isn’t going away anytime soon is it?

  3. Ha! You are wanting to speed up and I want to slow down a bit. 🙂 Hope you have a great March!

  4. What an appropriate subject to speak on … burnout. Having been there done that with a ‘crispy season,’ I can’t help believing that you impacted more women than you realize.

    Bless you, Beth.

  5. Looks like you might want to adjust your 2022 goal since you’ve crushed it already!

I’m also enjoying trying out not wearing masks everywhere. As of today, masks are optional at school and I’m curious to see how that turns out.
