Share Four Somethings May 2021

It’s been quite a month for our family. We had an exciting April. Regardless, May feels like we’ve been on the on-ramp for the American Eagle ride at Six Flags for the past few months and May started our first descent after you stop climbing. We’re a few weeks out from having a fully vaccinated home, which is exciting all on its own. However, we’re also celebrating the end of middle school, a successful tennis season, and the purchase of a new home. Here’s My Share Four Somethings for May 2021.

Something Loved

I am LOVING the paint colors we chose for our new home. The biggest transformation is the fireplace. I’m so grateful that Ordell was willing to paint brick and I’m really thankful that Kees Home Design is on speed dial to send me photos of ideas when I get a little ahead of myself with design ideas.

Something Read or Said

This month I finished a four-week course through Northern Seminary focusing on the book Reading While Black. I cannot say enough positive things about how well the course was run and how much more I got out of the book by participating in a book discussion in that format rather than simply reading it. One of the resources we used was this YouTube series where Dr. McCaulley discussed specific chapters in the book with Jude 3 Project.

Something Treasured

We celebrated Elijah’s 16th birthday this month. Reflecting on all those years has made me a little sentimental. However, I’m realizing more and more how important it is to treasure the moments we do have together. We’ll be practicing night driving this summer in preparation for a September license. I’m looking forward to late-night Sonic runs for a half-priced diet cherry limeade and conversation.

Something Ahead

I’ve launched a shop on Lessons from the Sidelines this month! I’m really happy with the few products I’m placed so far, but I’m most excited about the products that will show up this summer. Next month I FINALLY release my bible study on discipleship. I’m working with my designer on images and then we are good to go thanks to my amazing editor who always adds SO much value and insight to my projects. If you aren’t on my newsletter list this is the time to sign up. You’ll get exclusive discount codes AND be the first to hear when my study releases!
