I’m linking up with Heather Gerwing for another month of #sharefoursomethings. You can read my August list here.
I loved getting to watch my guys this month serve our football team. Our boys may not want to play football, but they love getting to be on the sidelines with their dad. They spent hours all summer at football practices filming and cleaning up equipment for the team. Their game day commitment hasn’t wavered. They have even worked a game in the freezing, pouring rain. We may see less of our favorite guy in-season, but getting to help at games makes football feel more like a family effort.
This month I had the opportunity to host an event for local coaches’ wives. One thing I’ve learned over the years is that this crazy lifestyle is one best done with as much support as you can find. I’m thankful for any opportunity to cheer on fellow coaches’ wives and this event was a perfect chance to do just that.
If you are a coach’s wife looking to connect with other wives in your area I encourage you to contact FCA and partner with them.
I’ve learned all about Facebook Messanger for Kids this month. Two of my nieces live in Minnesota and one calls almost every day to chat these days. She has (mostly) patiently taught me how to use different filters and all things Facebook Messanger.
Things like this make learning new technology worth it!
An article from Christianity Today entitled “What Are Evangelicals Afraid of Losing?” was an important read for me this month.
Author Michael Horton brings a perspective I’m longing to hear more of from the collective church. He writes “As evangelicals, we would do well to correct the president on this point. If an election can cause us to lose everything, what is it exactly that we have in the first place?” Read the whole article here.
