Wrapping up Spring Ball

Friday night under the lights our team had their first-ever spring scrimmage.  It was a perfect night weather-wise, and we had a great crowd.  Short notice we decided to collect cans for the local food pantry and had a good amount received, which was an excellent bonus.

I often hear people are surprised there is a purpose to spring ball other than just keeping the players busy, but for a coach spring ball is such a critical time.  Not only do they get a chance to work out some kinks from the season, but getting new changes implemented before August comes around is a huge help.

It was a great night of seeing some of our redshirt freshmen see the field for the first time.  It was also great to see so many parents and recruits who came out. Mostly, it was great to know that for the next few months we will get to see more of our Coach. 🙂  August 4th is just around the corner, and we will squeeze in as much quality time as possible.  We will also try to take advantage of lazy weekends and better weather for a few weeks.

Here’s our guy talking to the local NBC affiliate WVVA, ABC affiliate WOAY, and sportswriter for the local newspaper The Bluefield Telegraph.  Their support has been outstanding and completely blows me away.
