Today is our 14th wedding anniversary. Almost 18 years of doing life together. 14 years has brought an amazing amount of joy and fun. It has also brought its fair share of tears and fears. The longer we are together, the more confident I am that God uniquely created us for each other. Those fun times along with the tears has created a foundation that I’m confident in, and that seems to be a rare thing in marriage these days.
You know how to bring out the best in me even when I don’t realize it’s there to be drawn out. You also know exactly which buttons to push to frustrate me (as I do you). We both know that when we work together on a project or in life things will go much smoother, and that makes “Team Walker” a comfortable place to be.
I love how you love our boys. I’m so thankful you jump in on their passions and encourage them to be individuals. God knew what He was doing when He gave us such unique personalities with those two! The way you make memories with them continues to be the things they cling to the most when you are in the midst of the football season.
I also love how you pursue God. Your curiosity and hunger for debate can annoy me at times, but the truth is, I know I’m blessed to have a husband who desires to keep Christ as his leader. Thank you for also leading our boys to pursue a relationship with God as well. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and the seeds you are planting for the future are deeply appreciated.
Beginning this year my life with you will be longer than my life without you. If you had told me back when we met in college that I would care as much about football as I do, or have such a deeply loving heart for crazy football players, I would have laughed. Now, I can only say that I cannot wait to see what the next 14 brings!
All my heart…
